The Art of Roman Reyes

Always an innovator, Roman created a series of Aztec Dieties for the local El Zaribah, Shriner's Temple. Made from large styrofoam blocks they were finished so realistically that vistors to their exhibition were stunned when the statues moved when touched. Roman created an additional "Tiki Man" as a computer kiosk used in his classroom based on the Diety design.

Roman is typically accompanied on many of his public appearances by his "familiar" Little Me. This animatronic "action figure" is created in Roman's likeness and sings along with Roman when activated.

A current project involves the creation of Roman's face on masks for his grandchildren. His goal is to assemble everyone in one location wearing a "Roman Mask" and take their photo.

A sense of whimsy and humor are a constant in much of Roman's work.
